In 2004, Jim’s interest in real estate began when he purchased his first investment property with his wife Gretchen. Since then, Jim has developed expertise in managing and owning investment properties, and has been able to advise and help others grow their own real estate portfolios. In addition to managing their properties, Gretchen has taken on several administrative roles which enable Jim to focus all of his time and energy directly serving clients.
With a background that includes over 20 years of teaching economics and personal finance, Jim was awarded Upper Midwest Teacher of the Year from Junior Achievement. Jim leverages his classroom successes in all client interactions and is able to effectively communicate and engage clients on every aspect of the real estate transaction. Furthermore, from 2002-2014 Jim was elected to 6 terms on the La Crosse County Board of Supervisors where he regularly made policy decisions in zoning, planning, and land-use. He also served on the Public Works committee that oversaw all county facilities, parks, highways, and the solid waste department, helped establish the county’s innovative Household Hazardous Materials program and oversaw the construction of a $30 million expansion of the county’s Law Enforcement Center.
Jim and Gretchen are blessed with three children. Some of Jim’s favorite activities include datenights with Gretchen and spending time with his children. Jim’s other interests include real estate investing and development, nutrition and exercise, water skiing, and travel. Jim is a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Onalaska, Wisconsin.
